Fast Startup is a feature that helps your computer starts faster after being shutdown, and Windows 10 has enabled Fast Startup by default. Windows saves some system data to disk when the computer is shutdown, then when you start your computer again, the system resumes your computer via the saved system data rather than restart it, so that it improves the system startup time. In a way that resembles how hibernate works.
And, the computer isn’t in a full shutdown state due to the Fast Startup feature, so the battery power will slightly go down, and it’s normal. If you would like to disable Fast Startup, please refer to the following steps.
- Type and search [Power & sleep settings] in the Windows search bar①, and then click [Open]②.
- Click [Additional power settings]③.
- Click [Choose what the power button does]④.
- If the fast startup option is grayed out in Shutdown settings, please click [Change settings that are currently unavailable]⑤.
- Unselect [Turn on fast startup]⑥, and then select [Save changes]⑦, your computer will disable the Fast Startup feature in Windows.
